Both sets have the choice between a steel shaft or graphite shaft. When do you choose Steel or Graphite ?
Graphite is shock absorbent and lighter in weight. Because the weight of the shaft is lighter , it ensures that you develop more speed with a lower club speed, especially suitable for seniors and ladies . With Graphite you have fewer vibrations in your hands, arms and shoulders.
Steel is heavier than Graphite, which gives more feedback. You also hit a tighter ball flight with a steel shaft, Graphite has a bit more deviation than steel. People with a higher club speed often benefit more from a steel shaft.

Skymax IX5 golf set:
Advantages of Skymax IX5:
- Deeper cavity back than the S1, so you don't have to be as precise.
- The wider sole ensures good ground contact, the sole is wider than the S1
- The putter is a Mallet putter. Mallets often straighten more easily than blade putters
- You can order individual clubs if you lose a club. Unfortunately, the S1 does not have this option (except for the expansion sets)
- More choice in clubs than with the S1, such as a wooden 5 or wooden 7, hybrid 3, 3 iron or 4 iron
- Available in different lengths and grip thicknesses
Disadvantages of Skymax IX5:
- More expensive than the S1
- The wood and driver can dent at the back, the ball must be hit on the club face to prevent this.

Advantages of Skymax S1:

Disadvantages of Skymax S1:
- No individual clubs can be ordered, except for the expansion sets
